We are a team of educators who have successfully incorporated Problem Based Learning into K-12 and
post-secondary classroom instruction.
This experience has translated into the design and delivery of teacher/faculty professional development through projects supported by NASA, NOAA and the NSF. We have also provided professional development for teachers of U.S. History during two Teaching American History grants, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.
We were among the first in the country to develop online problem-based learning lessons (www.cotf.edu/ete) and to provide PBL teacher professional development at the K-12 and higher education levels (http://essea.strategies.org). These initiatives led to the development of a PBL certification program at a major university outside the United States.
Now we share our desire to increase students’ 21st Century Learning Skills by conducting teacher/instructor PBL workshops and creating instructional materials in multiple disciplines.
